Spring is one of the things that I anticipate every year.
And during this season I love trying different recipes and ingredients that I could use and create for my drinks.
I love to research the most delicious recipes and raw materials that I could use for my drinks.
And I got an email from one of my readers, asking me about the Island Green Smoothie Recipe.
With some research, I’ve found out that the ingredients includes some of my favorite vegetables and fruits.
So without further ado, here’s my own version of this delicious recipe:
My Own Version of the Island Green Smoothie Recipe (Kinda)
*Note: Frozen foods (fruits and vegetables) might be the only option for some people in order to get the raw materials for this drink.
But raw and fresh produce would always be the best option. I go with organically grown as much as possible, but if there’s no other option, fresh local produce is also great.
This recipe is enough to create a smoothie drink for 1 person (about 225 oz). Feel free to double the ingredients if you want to make a drink for another person.
Tropical Green Smoothie Recipe
This is my own version of the very famous, Island Green Smoothie Recipe
- 4 cups mango chunks
- 4 cups pineapple chunks
- 1/2 piece banana
- 1 handful spinach
- 1/2 handful kale leaves
Blend all ingredients in your favorite blender. Use frozen fruits for colder and more delicious drinks. Serve immediately and enjoy.
As a general rule when creating my drinks, I don’t add any processed forms of sugar.
I just add the fruits which gives it some natural sweetness (I just make sure that there’s no more than 50% of fruits in my smoothies, or else it will be a sugar-laden drink).
Remember that this is a smoothie recipe, and I use mostly the Nutribullet when creating these drinks. You can try the Vitamix and Blendtec machines, which are the high-end, more professional blenders.
Once you blend these ingredients, try it with some ice cubes and feel refreshed! Yum! The sweetness of the pineapple, banana and mango compliments the taste of the greens (kale and spinach).
This is definitely a great way to add more vegetables to your system. Enjoy!
