Nutribullet Detox Recipes – Delicious Toxin-Cleansing Blast

As soon as the holiday season is over and it's the start of a new year, it's my time to detox and have a toxic cleansing blast with my Nutribullet (or any other blender)

But before I share my Nutribullet Detox Recipes, I'd like to share some thoughts on detoxing.

I've been an avid reader of Dr. Greger's blog at Nutritionfacts.org. He said that research shows our liver does most of the detoxing and removal of harmful toxins in our body.

But one of the best ways to help pour liver do it's job properly is to first stop eating foods that are laden with preservatives and then eat foods that are rich in liver-enhancing nutrients.

One compound that's particularly helpful for the liver is called “Sulforophane“. It is a glucosinolate that is present when Cruciferous vegetables like Broccoli and Kale are chewed or broken down.

These glucosinolates gives these vegetables the bitter taste when we eat, chew or drink them.

Sulforophane is highly abundant in broccoli, which is why I love Broccoli and have added it in my daily drinks and meals. Here's the research article from Dr. Greger himself.

Cruciferous vegetables are also rich in these compounds and one vegetable in particular is kale. It is not only proven to be beneficial and good for your skin, but kale also has tons of benefits.

So the focus of these recipes would be around these greens. And of course, there would be the bitter taste of vegetables, but if you drink it with a straw, I have found out that they are more manageable.

Thanks for the recipes. I love my nutripro! I am allergic to banana, avo and melon. Most smoothies are bulked up using either avo or banana. Any ideas on replacements for these, to receive the same nutrients? Thanks so much
